Congress Venue

Cankarjev dom (CD) Cultural and Congress Centre is located in the centre of Ljubljana, at a walking distance from several hotels and the attractive Old Town. With 22 multi-purpose halls and function rooms and a maximum capacity of 2,000 delegates in the plenary hall, it is the largest purpose-built congress centre in Slovenia in terms of auditorium-style seating and among our most established venues on the international conference market.

CD features a well-conceived design aligned with contemporary functional and aesthetic criteria as well as extraordinary acoustic properties of its halls. The venue, which has a total surface area of 36,000 m² and is able to welcome up to 5,000 visitors simultaneously, also provides extensive space for commercial or art exhibitions.

In keeping with the green policy, CD has adopted energy-saving measures and integrated new, environmentally-friendly technologies and materials. Additional contribution to the quality of life in the city is the installation of beehives on the roof of the congress centre.

How to reach the Cankarjev Dom

By bus

From the main bus or railway station bus No. 9 will take you to our immediate vicinity - the Drama stop, where busses No. 1, 3, 6 and 19 also stop. Not far away there is also bus stop Kongresni trg, where busses No. 2, 10, 11, 13, 17, 20, 21 stop. Bus No 14 will also bring you near Cankarjev dom - to Prešeren street.

Parking

You can park at a single rate after 19:00 in the garage, which is open half an hour after each CD evening event. Later you have to collect the car by entering the garage through the junction of Šubiceva and Valvazorjeva street. Your car can remain in the garage until 06:00 next day. After that time the single rate of parking no longer applies. When visiting CD, you can also park your vehicle at Trg republike (Republic Square).
